Children's Sunday Morning

Sunday mornings are the foundation for our Children’s Ministry.  Children from birth through 5th grade are involved in Sunday School classes at 9:45am.  Each week they attend class with the same teachers that help them to see the love that Christ has for them.

Children in Worship

At Spring Valley Baptist Church, we believe in families worship together. There is Extended Care for infants through Kindergartners during the 9am and 11:15am worship services, but as your child enters elementary school you will find increased interest in God, Jesus, and church. This is the right time to begin training your child for worship service participation. In terms of the spiritual training of your child, family worship time on Sunday morning may be the most important event of your week. It lays the foundation for your family devotions at home.

There are two age-specific children’s worship bulletins available for your child each Sunday. You will find them at the Welcome center.

Bringing your children for the first time?

The Preschool and Children’s Information Counter is in center of the preschool hall on the first floor.  Our Sunday morning director will be at the counter to help you sign in your child and find the appropriate class for them based on their development and/or age.  Classes for infants through Kindergarten are on the first floor and classes for 1st through 5th grade are on the second floor.

Safety First!

We know that children are a precious gift from God, therefore we have several safety policies in place to make sure that all of our children are cared for in a safe and loving environment:

  • All of our Children's Workers are carefully selected and approved by the church and have submitted to a background check.
  • Beepers are available to all parents of preschoolers in the event that a Children's Worker needs to contact a parent during Sunday School or Extended Care.  Our beepers are set to vibrate, not to beep.  Please be sure to actually wear the beeper--do not place it in a purse or sit it on the pew or a chair.
  • All of our Children's Workers will be wearing a name tag identifying them as a Children's Worker.
  • Preschool children wear a name tag sticker while in our preschool area.  This allows all workers to be able to identify all children appropriately.
  • Preschoolers will be released from their classroom to a parent or designated adult only.  Siblings are not allowed to pick children up from their classrooms.
  • Please alert the workers in your child's classroom to any allergies or relevant medical conditions.
